The fear of updating pricing

I've never been particularly good at adjusting my pricing, because honestly, I get afraid that no one will buy when it is more expensive. It's already a decent chunk of change to spend, when everything is more pricey, but we're now well beyond what I can call sustainable.

I made myself a shiny new costings spreadsheet, with updated costs across every single ingredient, and the prices it tells me that I should be charging are frankly, alarming.

I think I can count on one hand the number of times I've increased prices over 11.5 YEARS, and now it's definitely something I have to do. Cocoa prices alone, and therefore chocolate, have skyrocketed, and thats only a portion of the costs we have. Small business is tough no matter what, and to say the last few years have been pretty tough is understatement.

Would big brands and shops be having the same existential crisis over having to increase prices? Likely not, but it does still make me feel guilty!

That's all to say, that by Friday (18/7), I'll have updated all our pricing across retail (online and in store), wholesale, corporate and weddings. If you've been thinking about placing an order, probably best to sneak it in before the price change!
